Transition for Global Council Delegates The initial ARC Member Delegates to the Global Council shall be the current 41 Members Council delegates whose terms expire in 2010 or 2011. If a Members Council delegate whose term expires in 2010 or 2011 resigns or otherwise vacates their seat, the ARC Executive Committee, in consultation with the Global Council Executive Committee, will select an Alternate from that Network or Service Center to fill out the remainder of that term. In the transition year, if the expiration of terms would cause an ARC sub-region to be under-represented, the ARC Executive Committee, in consultation with the Global Council Executive Committee, may appoint an Alternate to serve until the first ARC Global Council Delegate elections are held. In December 2009, Global Council staff will determine the number of delegates to represent ARC on the Global Council for a term beginning July 1, 2010, as outlined in Section VI of the Protocols. Based on the term expirations of current Members Council delegates, there are 18 delegates that would continue through June 30, 2011. The ARC Nominating Committee will seek candidates to fill the number of vacant seats (Dec 2009 Allocation – 18 continuing delegates = # of delegates to be elected). Nominations and elections will be conducted in accordance with Article VII above. These newly elected Member Delegates will serve three-year terms. Initial ARC Officers and Executive Committee In accordance with the Resolution (“Resolution on Regional Implementation Committee Chairs and Composition”) passed by Members Council at the October 2008 meeting, the Chair of the ARC Implementation Committee will serve as the initial ARC Chair until June 30, 2010. Additionally, the members of the ARC Implementation Committee will serve as the initial ARC Executive Committee until June 30, 2010. The members of the Executive Committee will elect from among themselves a Vice Chair and Secretary to serve as the other initial officers until June 30, 2010. When ARC holds its first election for Officers and Executive Committee members, they will elect a Chair, a Vice-Chair/Chair-Elect, Secretary, and four (4) Members-at-Large, to assume office on July 1, 2010.
