Article II: Charge.
The Americas Regional Council shall (i) provide an inclusive forum for broad discussion of issues that are important to its Members; (ii) serve as a two-way vehicle for communicating to the Global Council the various interests of its Members and for communicating from the Global Council issues requiring ARC Member awareness, response, or action; (iii) advise OCLC and the Global Council of new or emerging issues that require their attention; and (iv) be empowered to elect delegates to the Global Council as determined by the Protocols.
In order to carry out this charge, ARC shall:
A. Promote and facilitate OCLC plans and cooperative efforts that benefit Members;
B. Take a proactive role in representing and bringing forward the interests and concerns of ARC members;
C. Expedite the flow of information between ARC and the Global Council;
D. Hold at least one regular meeting annually, and special meetings as necessary;
E. Elect delegates to the OCLC Global Council as allocated by the Protocols;Engage in other OCLC related matters serving ARC members.
