Welcome to the Americas Regional Council Blog!

This is a time of BIG changes regarding how OCLC Members can have an inclusive forum for a two-way discussion with the new Global Council and OCLC. It is our responsibility to give the ARC the best chance possible to fulfill its promise. This is a time-limited blog intended to allow delegates and alternates to OCLC's Members Council, Network Directors, plus members of the Board of Trustees and senior OCLC management, to discuss the ARC Framework. This first round of vetting will be open through March 9, 2009. After that date, the Implementation Committee, will revise the draft. Then the committee will open a second vetting period before its final document is due a month before May's Members Council. Each of the 12 articles, the transition appendix, and open comment section has an entry in this blog, and you are invited to comment, to ask questions, or to make suggestions for changes on any or all of the sections. The blog will be moderated by Patrick Wilkinson, Chair of the Regional Council of the Americas Implementation Committee and Anne Prestamo, Vice Chair of the committee.A couple of logistical notes: To comment or to view other people's comments, click on the link at the end of the entry with the word "comment."
